Unhappy
by CathI 05/14/2018
I was very unhappy with this rack as it has been changed somewhat from the old style, this rack and is now much wider and therefore does not fit on my draining board, although you advertise it as slim.

No rust, just Sit'n Pretty
by LARRYA 07/31/2016
This SS dishrack is just what we've wanted. We were tired of the old plastic coated steel racks that would start to rust from with in and break through the plastic and get all over our counter tops etc. This SS rack will not have that issue ever due to the metal properties (18-8 SS?).
We love the drain system, all residual water running to the center and off the drain in the sink, priceless.
Thank you,
Alvarado, Larry

Serious design flaw
by NancyM 06/18/2016
There are many things to like about this dishrack - the look, the size, the functionality. But the fact that the plastic tray that collects dripping water and feeds it to the drain spout is not removable is a serious design flaw. The water that collects becomes scummy very quickly and it is extremely hard to clean while attached. It would be so simple to make it removable so cleaning would be a dream and the unit would be about perfect. I still can't believe it was designed this way!!

Dish rack...nice stuff
by Don S 06/16/2016
Luv the product these guys put out ( if you can love a wire dish rack) ...clean, simple lines. Well thought out in terms of solutions for very common mundane problems. My wife and I were looking to replace the one we had...in the end came right back to this model...nothing out there that provided the same benefits and cleans looks.

Slim wire frame dishrack
by JenT 05/10/2016
Dishrack isn't what I had expect. It looks good in pictures. But base is cheap quality. Since bottom rack has 3" opening for circulation and more than half is close surface. if you have cup in close surface side, cup inside became condensed and no way to dry. I had it for more than a month and little drainage tray fell out and water spille into my counter 3 - 4 times already. This dishrack will not dry your dish but it looks good for your kitchen counter. If you are looking for reliable dishrack, this isn't for you. This isn't worth for $50 at all.
I can not recommend the product to other consumer. Product design isn't practical. May be this is for one person household with no dishes to do.

Frame dishrack still has drainage problem
by EileenD 05/10/2016
I had purchased 2 earlier wire frame dishracks even though there was a drainage issue where the water just pooled. So I was very pleased to find a new drainage solution. Except it doesn't work well either. There is a tray that looks like it should slide in but in doesn't, you have to clip it in, but it doesn't stay. The smallest jar causes it to fall out. I have had to use clear packing tape to hold it on. And there was no information on how it was supposed to go on in the first place. My daughter and I spent a long time just trying to figure it out.

Sheryl in the Canyon
by SherylF 05/10/2016
We live in a rural area and need to do all dishes old school style . This design keeps the counter dry. It is easy to clean/ bleach out. We bought 2 as we have a lot of dishes from vegetarian cooking. We have the other one up on 3 inch blocks so it drains down to the first one and then to the sink. Like a double water fall if you will. It is a brilliant design by some one who gets the real process. Thank you. Sheryl in the Canyon

Love it, except....
by RebeccaS 05/09/2016
I love the size and clean look. Unfortunately, the cup hooks do not "click" onto the frame so they come off every time I remove a cup from them. I have had other simple human dish racks with this type of cup holder and had no problem. Maybe many new one is defective.

Love it!!!
by ThereseC 02/16/2016
I was tired of the old dihshracks with the plastic tray under them..the trays that get really gross looking from water deposits . This model looks great and even has a place for the larger knives to drain instead of just having to lay them on top of the dishes. Totally worth the money!

Never thought I'd love a dish drainer
by LorrieR 02/08/2016
This is my second simplehuman dish drainer. The previous one lasted 5 years. It's totally compact for my counter space and I like the idea of water draining into the sink instead of pooling on a nasty tray. It's stylish and doesn't look like an eyesore on my counter as do the conventional dish drainers. I'm very happy with it. Oh, by the way the only reason I had to replace it was because the water draining apparatus wouldn't stay in the slot any longer, but hey 5 years? Can't beat that. Thank you simplehuman.

The best yet
by VincentM 01/30/2016
We had an older version of this dishrack for several years, a little bigger, harder to take apart for cleaning, not as pretty. Then we had a new kitchen installed. Our old Simple Human leaked a little over the edge of the new draining board. After searching the Web for a replacement, we realized that only Simple Human could do the job.
This model is like the previous one but better in every way. Like the Neanderthal, our old dishrack is now extinct---no longer supplied by the manufacturer---but has gone to a furniture charity who were very glad of it.
Our new one looks beautiful and perfectly complements the new kitchen, which like the old one proudly disdains electrical dishwashers. Everyone is keen to do it by hand and stack them in this beautiful rack, which does the job just right, and has none of the faults of the old one.

Rusts - I'm on my fourth disrack
by AlexisS 01/27/2016
I have had three of these dish racks and they ALL rusted, some within a few months of receiving them. Simplehuman will not give me my money back and instead insist on sending me a new dish rack to replace the rusted ones every time I contact them. It functions fine it's just the rust. It is annoying that every few months I have to contact them and go back and forth over several emails until they agree to send me another one in return for the rusted one. I wish they would just refund my money, it's a waste of everyone's time.
note from simplehuman
We apologize for your frustration. We recommend when cleaning your dish rack, to use a solution of baking soda with warm water - no harsh chemicals which help your dish rack looking fresh. Also, avoiding a rough cleaning pad will help prevent any scratches.

The most Stylish disk rack on market
by KarenE 06/21/2015
I wanted something that wasn't so ordinary for placing dishes into on the counter. I had a simplehuman dish rack in a different style that lasted 5 plus years so of course I sought out the same product. I always check reviews and I know this company stands behind it products so I bought the slim frame. I registered my product and initially I was happy for a few months until the coating around the frame started to peel and rust now mind you I had my other rack from this company for several years. I began to search once again on line for a new product unsuccessfully so I called simplehuman customer service explained what was going on & they sent me a return label and asked me to send it back. In the mean time I had to buy a back up rack & ordinary looking style and in know time I received a complete new slim disk rack in the mail. I am so pleased with the service and I hope the one I sent back helped them solve the rusting issue. My family was pleased and liked the functionality of the simplehuman disk much better then the ugly traditional rack that temporarily took its place. I also have several trash cans in this line and very pleased with quality.

Slim Wire Frame Dishrack
by DanielB 01/21/2015
I enjoyed the dishrack and like the design, but my first one rusted after a couple of years, which should not happen with stainless. Perhaps the solder or welding material that joins the wires needs to be adjusted to be something that doesn't rust as well.
The drip lip works fine for me and I have a hint for those who have trouble getting it to go over the rim of the sink. I keep my drain basket on TOP of a two-inch thick chopping board that is just a bit bigger than the dishtray. Works great in a cramped kitchen. When I want to chop stuff, I just slide the tray right off, chop stuff, rinse board and slide it back on again, even if full of dishes.
My only sense of design needing improvement on it is that small saucers and Corelle soup bowls, food storage container lids, jar lids, LOTS of stuff can and do slide out and onto the counter, back into the sink or onto the floor because the space is too unobstructed. Around the sides on the bottom half only, there needs to be one more horizontal wire, halving the current space, and a row of vertical wires between the lower horizontal ones, like on the short sides, but they don't need to be THAT close, on the long side so this stuff cannot slide out.
A word about their customer service - GREAT! I didn't have my receipt and had not registered it, yet they still honored the warranty and sent me a new one.

Love it but...
by KateH 12/03/2014
I love this dishrack- it's the perfect size for my small kitchen and I love the way it looks. The bamboo knife holder is awesome! My only complaint is that the metal rack started to rust a bit after maybe 2 years, BUT I called simple human to see if I could replace just the metal part- she said it never should have rusted and they sent me a brand new one. Awesome company! I have recommended them to my whole family. My mom just bought the larger dish drain and loves it!

by CathyE 03/04/2013
The design of this rack suits my small counter very well. It allows enough counter space for vegetable chopping. It is large enough for my modest dish and pot washing needs. It is high enough to allow proper drainage into my sink. I like the way it looks. I have had the rack for a few weeks and have not experienced any cleaning difficulties yet.

Love the look, but VERY HARD to clean.
by CatherineD 11/26/2012
Although I love the look of this dishrack and it functions well with the knife block and plate holders (mine do not fall over as some other reviewers have complained of) it is hard to clean. The drip tray is not angled enough to allow all the water to drip out so it sits there and causes mildew to grow. The drip tray does not detach, therefore it is really hard to clean. I've soaked it, put it in the dishwasher and crammed a paper towel soaked in bleach through the drip tray, but it always comes back within a week or two. If this could be fixed I would be much happier with this product.

excellent dish drainer
by WilliamH 10/12/2012
like everything about it, appearance, functionality, etc. Did not give it 5 stars only because the drain spout, while adjustable, is barely long enough to reach over the edge of a rimmed sink. That would not be a problem with a rimless type installation.

by DonnaB 10/03/2012
I am very pleased with this dishdrainer. It drains efficiently into my undermount sink, and is roomier than I thought it would be. I especially like the knife drainer: with my old dishrack, I was always afraid of people getting pricked by knives when adding or removing dishes. It is very sturdy, and looks nice on my newly remodled kitchen counter.

Nice & Works
by TM 06/25/2012
No dishwasher here; so handwashing for one is every day. Like it well enough. Would prefer if the spout was movable like on some of the other units so I could position it differently in my space. Would also like it better if the utensil holder "hooked" onto the unit. Other than that, looks nice and works well for small number of dishes.

by SusanS 02/14/2012
This was very well-made and I would have like to keep it but the picture on their website is very misleading. It didn't show the bottom of the drying rack clearly. It is molded plastic with slots for dishes that would be absolutely impossible to clean without a dishwasher so I sent it back.

by HilaryN 01/31/2012
I love the fact that the water drains straight into the sink and doesn't touch the drainer, which means I don't get any watermarks, we live in a very hard water area and this is a boon! Great design and appearance
by MelanieD 01/30/2012
We are a two-person family and we use the dishwasher only two or three times a year; so this dish rack is used all day every day. The size is perfect. The glass holder is not strong enough to hold our glasses or cups unless they are plastic; so we use it to hold and air-dry our sponge and we like it better. Like many others have commented, the only gotcha is that it does not drain well if you have over-the-counter sinks, like we do. To improve the draining, I made supports for two of the legs out of oven-baked clay. Still, it's slightly irksome that this small flaw could have been easily overcome in the design. Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

Not the most practical dish rack
by lD 09/23/2011
The size and shape of this dish rack are great, and of course it looks good for a dish rack. But the design otherwise is less than great.
The slots that should hold your dishes upright in the rack are too narrow for stoneware plates or dishes that are slightly thick at the edge. My dishes won't stand upright at all, and of course my wooden and bamboo cutting boards won't either. I have to lean them somewhat precariously against the edge of the rack. If there are several, they have to then lean against each other too.
Also, the cup holders are really only useful for holding light plastic cups, not glassware or ceramic mugs, which seem to slip right off of the cup holders with the slightest bump or brush against them. It seems to be because these cup holders are angled rather than upright as on my previous, much cheaper and apparently also much more useful dish rack.
This was all very surprising to me, as the other simplehuman products I have always seemed so well-designed and practical. I only recommend this dish rack if you have nothing but thin dishware and cookware and plastic cups that won't break if they slide off the holder.

Love this dishrack
by ShariT 08/12/2011
This dishrack is slimmer and longer than the one I had previously. Since it is longer, it uses the space from the counter to the backsplash. It gives you more counter space. It is much roomier and will hold more dishes. I like how the water drains from the dishrack into the sink. I do have a lip on my sink, and it does sit up a bit. I just lean the rack over to make sure all the water has drained out when I have put dishes away. I also like the bambo knife holder. This dishrack looks great, and it does the job. Great product!

So far Simple Human excells in efficient attractive products. The only reason this dish rack is not a 5 star review is that it is a little harder than I anticipated to clean the tray. Fabulous, but...
by GillianS 05/19/2010
I love the slim dishrack. I use it in a small apartment kitchen where the sink edge has a low profile. It works perfectly. I have been able to pile the rack high with pots and pans and everything else I use to cook (I use a dishwasher for dishes). The sides safely corral everything and I don't have the problem of large items sliding around. When I come back all the items are beautifully dry and ready to put away.
I would like to get another one for a second sink, but that Kohler sink has a high rim. Like the customer who left the only negative review on the product page, I need some kind of feet extenders to raise the rack in order for it to work with that sink.
I know that only the large stainless steel rack has feet extenders at the moment. I would be happy to pay an additional $10 to $15 for feet extenders for the slim dishrack. It is really that great of a design, but not when it doesn't drain into the sink or needs some crazy homemade contraption to make it work as it should.
This is my second time in six months pleading for this accommodation for what must be the style of many sinks out there.
I hope there will soon be an update on how the company is addressing this need.

good if you sink rim is flat
by roseO 04/11/2010
I bought this dish rack cause they claim it's made for sinks that have a rim around the edge, but I was dissapointed when I found that it's not tall enough to fit over my kitchen sink rim so it doesn't drain unless I lift it and drain it over my sink. I bought my sink from Lowes so I assume it's a standerd size. Over all, it's well made and durable but I just wished they made the legs an inch taller on the outter side so it would drain on it's own. I would recommend this product for those who don't have a rim around there sink.

SIMPLY THE BEST

Super functional, sculptural, easy to clean. Doesn't damage counter tops with raised design. Love it so much, I purchased a second one to give as a gift.

Dish drying rack
by AnneS 02/09/2010
Although I do like this product, it doesn't look very good after a period of time due to the construction and ultimate collection of wetness which breeds discoloration or mildew/mold. I have to regularly spray with a clorox or some cleaner in some of the tight spaces where they water collects as the water drains off the dishes which are drying. I purchased this originally because of it's size and clean lines...work on the design so it can really completely dry out. Rubbermaid products may not look as nice, but they don't have this problem and their products dry out and don't breed this mold problem.

The only dish drainer I've found that solves the problem of getting the drain water into the sink. Very well designed product.
