Simple Human usually gets the design both functional and esthetically pleasing. This is one of their successes. The base could be slightlly heavier, but so far this weight is working under most circumstances. It is worth it to shop and pay for Simple Human products.

This is the best paper towel holder I have ever owned. The tension arm holds the paper towels securely. Also the large base keeps the holder securely on the countertop. Excellent product.

Great bit of kit ! Well made, sturdy and robust

The tension arm paper towel holder looks great and works great with a big paper towel roll... but if you are using a small role or once the large large becomes relatively small, the tension mechanism does not work well. I am not as impressed with this product as I have been with all other simple human products.

A perfect addition to all of the other SH stainless steel products I purchased. This item stays perfectly balanced and each towel tears off evenly without unrolling the entire roll. I love it, its gorgeous just like all of the other SH products and I found the price to be extremely reasonable for a paper towel holder that works this great. Sleek and durable design, I am sure it will last for years to come. Perfect for the User who doesn't want to drill holes into existing cabinetry and for mobile Users who live in college dorms, apartments and condos. This towel holder is the nicest and best I've found. It's good and heavy so it doesn't tip over when you try to tear off some towels. And tension arm supplies just enough pressure to allow you to tear off just the number of towels you want. Plus, it's very nice looking.

OK love is too strong a word But it really is a very practical and well performing device. If it were a bit smaller it would be better but I would buy it again in a heart beat

It works fine and looks good. It is stable, easily loaded, and travels easily from one place to another. I suppose you will stick with a stainless steel finish, but some folks might prefer brass, burnt brass or matte black. Then you'd have to provide those finishes in your other products and it would no longer be "simple". Thanks!

Absolutely the best towel holder we've ever owned or used. We've had the fancy, granit based from Frontgate and everything in-between but the design and function of this one is perfect. Each towel tears off effortlessly right to the bottom of the roll.

I bought this product after my kitchen was redone, since my wife did not like the look of the under cabinet spring loaded one we had used in our old kitchen. She had bought a stand up counter one that was always falling over unless you used two hands, making it a pain to use. The Simple Human is great to use one handed, getting one or three towels as you wish. Looks great and is a solid product. After much use by adults and children the tension arm pad pivot point broke, but the company warranty was gold with a replacement sent quickly. Very happy to have this on my counter.

It's terrific if you always tear down to get your paper towels. And it terrific when the roll of towels is full. But if the roll is about half gone and you have a few glasses crowded around the counter and you tear up, the whole roll can fly off the spindle

I have lots of simple human pieces but i love this paper towel holder, its not only looks great in my kitchen it despenses my paper towels with ease never riping, even the towels that cut in half size, its easy to keep clean and this company really stands behind their products.

This product is great! But what is great about this product is the customer service of the company and the warranty of this product. I bought an earlier version of this product last year at the Container Store and it was not the same design as this new product. The old product had tension spring which was a flaw. I called customer service and told them about the problem and there were not red tape or questions asked to make you feel bad. They were professional about the matter, took my name and address and email. They sent me a UPS label via email to return the product and within 10 days, I received the new model via UPS. Before that, they sent you an email that the product has been shipped to you along with a UPS tracking number. I love Simple Human products and will not hesitate to buy a good product because the customer service is AAA rated! Worth every penney!

We have run through several countertop towel holders in enameled metal, wood, and stainless steel. Never one that performs as well and stays looking sharp doing it as this one. Perfectly weighted base and just the right amount of tension for perfect one-hand tearooms like promised. Keeps it neat and the stainless construction keeps it mildew and stain free. Easiest towel change too. No more unscrewing and screwing back in the top finial. The tension arm does it all! Simple Human ROCKS!

I was skeptical about receiving this item as a gift. Most paper towel holders wind up falling over, or giving you too many paper towels. That is not the case with this model. The towels come off easily and the holder stays in place on my counter. I love it and would recommend it to others.

Always wanted a paper towel holder and this one has set the bar high! From using my parents or ones at friends houses the paper towels would droop, dangling into the mess on the counter, but this one holds it up with just the right firmness to grab the right amount.

Our kitchen doesn't accommodate a paper towel holder on any wall or in any cabinet, so I've been sitting a roll of paper towels on the cabinet next to the sink, or hiding it under the sink, since we moved here over a year ago. This holder sits on the cabinet, looks good, and works like a charm. The other reviews are correct - it is heavy enough that it does not tip when you tear towels off, yet light enough to lift and clean around it.

After redoing our kitchen my wife bought a counter top paper towel holder. We had always installed under cabinet holders in our other homes. I perfered the ones we had always used, and found the upright counter top type to be a very poor design. If you did not use two hands you were either picking it up off the kitchen floor, or getting ten paper towels while trying for two. The Simple human is weighted so it stays in place, while the arm keeps proper tension to the end of the roll. Well worth the money. Also my wife loves the way it the stainless looks.

I ordered this bc of the tension arm holder, fantastic idea!! Well, it works! Works best (with least amout of effort) with regular sized paper towels. We use the "select a size" paper towels and it works with them, just have to move slower. Would recommend it still especially against other products. Def does its job!

Clean simple design, great counter stability, easily handles Jumbo size rolls, allos easu tear off of segments with one hand. I also like the asy load aspect to add a roll without removing a top.

Recently purchased a trash can and have been very happy with it, so I asked for the tension arm paper towel holder for Christmas. I must have been good, becasue it was under the tree Christmas morning. Took it out of the box, put in right on the counter, and am loving it! Why? Because it does what it should do...GREAT DESIGN. Simply drop the paper town over the rod while holding the tension arm back, let go of the tension arm, and you are done! You really can just pull a paper towel off with one hand. The base grips perfectly to my countertop, not sliding, and the tension arm does what my other hand used to have to do. Super convenient for those times when you need to grab a paper town quickly with one hand (while cooking with messing hands, etc.) It's a keeper, for sure!

That's how easy it is to use this paper towel holder. Very well build, fit and finish are perfect. Simply slide the paper towel roll (any size - regular up to the giant size -- accommodates them all.) Dispensing is as simple as giving the roll a tug and viola! Flawless one-handed operation. It's out of the way. Where we had a PT holder was always in danger of getting too hot from our Toaster oven. Now it's not and it takes up very little space. Love it, love it. Oh, really well made.

I love that its easy to clean. I love the holder hole on the top. If I'm doing dishes or have my hands dirty i can just grab the thing by that little hole to move it, without having to actually grab the roll and dirty unnecessary paper towels! Looks great with all my other simple human stuff (or any kitchen with stainless steel!)
